Job Description

· We require a Manual Machinist to work in our large machine shop carrying out all aspects of engineering.

· Working on a verity of components including motor/pump shafts, bearing housings, food processing equipment, aggregate crushing shafts & print rolls.

Key Responsibilities:

· Able to swiftly & comprehensively fault-find, rectify problems on mechanical equipment.

· Ability to operate both small and large machinery lathes and mills safely.

· Work to high accurate standard - typical tolerances 0.01mm

· Able to interpret engineering drawings

· Produce and repair components using own initiative and to work unaided when required

· Produce one off or multiple parts

· A strong knowledge of General workshop practices.

· All other reasonable tasks and duties as and when required

Internal: Branch Manage, Supervisor, Colleagues

External: Customers

Objectives & Measurement:

· Accomplishes goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests

· Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

· To clearly and accurately record the status of operations on job cards

· Ability to pick up a part finished job and see it through to completion

Person Specification - Qualifications

· Machinist Apprentice qualification or higher.

· Mechanical / Engineering qualification.

· Three years' Experience working in a manual machine shop environment.
